Abstract:

To provide an authentication system for reducing delay due to communication between devices.

The authentication system of an embodiment includes one, two or more terminal devices and at least one server device. The terminal device includes: an imaging unit for imaging a face of an object two or more times and generating a plurality of picked-up images of the object; a transmission unit for transmitting the plurality of picked-up images generated in the imaging unit to the server device; and a determination unit for receiving score information for each of the plurality of picked-up images, which is transmitted from the server device, and determining whether or not the object is a person registered beforehand on the basis of respective values of the score information. The server device includes a score calculation unit for receiving the plurality of picked-up images transmitted by the transmission unit, calculating the score information which is the information indicating whether or not the picked-up image is similar to data stored in a storage device beforehand by a numerical value for each of the plurality of picked-up images, and transmitting the score information for each of the picked-up images to the terminal device.
