Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatically adjust a brake gap of pads, by screw supporting a screw shaft mechanism to an arm, supporting friction pads of a disc brake with a lifting machine, and shifting the pads little by little in connection with movement of the arm. CONSTITUTION:At release of brake power, a rod in a thruster 1 is lifted to turn a link 2 around a pin 4 and engage a link pin 31 to a notch 3a in a wedge lever 3. If the rod is further lifted, the lever 3 is turned around a guide shaft 9, and the thicker part than a wedge 5 is pressed between a pair of rollers 10 to separate friction pads 15 from a brake disc 16. At this time when the friction pads 15 are worn, ratchet wheels 11, meshed with ratchet elemenets 18a, are turned by one tooth with restoring force of an adjusting lever 18, and a screw shaft 26 is moved by the screw toward the brake disc 16, accordingly, the friction pads 15 are pressed to the direction of the brake disc 16 to decrease and correct a brake gap to an adequate value.
