PURPOSE: To immediately listen to a required message by storing a tape position when reproduction is completed based on the count value of a counter which detects the position of a recorded tape, and starting the reproduction from a stored tape position when the reproduction is completed.

CONSTITUTION: The reproduction completing position of the recorded tape is detected with the count value of the counter 10, and the count value is stored in a storage part 12. When the next reproduction is performed, the rewinding or fast winding of the tape from the current tape position to the tape position when the reproduction is completed stored in the storage part 12 is performed, and the next reproduction is started from the tape position when the reproduction is completed. Thereby, it is possible to always start the reproduction of a recording content by a remote control operation from an unreproduced message, and to listen to the required message preferentially.
