PURPOSE: To shorten the time required to make an appearance defect part distinct to improve the check efficiency by irradiating a check object with vertical light and oblique light having wavelength light of three primary colors and picking up its image.
CONSTITUTION: A vertical illuminating light source 24 and an oblique illuminating light source 25 have color filters 26 and 27 respectively, and wavelength light of three primary colors of a color camera 19 is used as an independent illumination source to irradiate the check object, and the image is picked up by the camera 19. A color separating part 20 separates the image of the camera 19 to individual color images to display them on image monitors 21 and 22. Thus, the defect part looks rising and is made distinct in displayed images when the appearance of the check object like a sample of a laminated package is checked by image processing, and a shutter switching mechanism and the switching time accompanied with the change of the illumination source are unnecessary to shorten the sampling time.
