PURPOSE: To automate a variety of assembling and processing (or machining) operations by separating the operating (or processing) function from the handling function completely.

CONSTITUTION: To a work A placed in a prescribed position on a positioner 1, a functioning equipment (Operating Module) 4a through 4b, which are to supply power to be needed for assembling or processing operation prepared in a prescribed position in advance, are selectively handled in accordance with the operating purpose by means of harmonized control manipulators 3a and 3b. And then, by shifting these manipulators 3a and 3b, from among a number of assembling and processing jigs (operating heads) 8aW8d which are prepared in a prescribed position in advance, appropriate ones are selected to be attached onto the above mentioned functioning equipment 4aW4d. And then, the aforementioned manipulators 4a W 4d are shifted to the prescribed position of the aforementioned work A for execution of the required assembling and processing operations.
