PURPOSE: To enable the automation of man-power working such as addition and separation of rods by installing a rod magazine and a mast, and moving a rod clamp with the mast as the shaft with a winch or a horizontal rotary device.

CONSTITUTION: A rod magazine 5 is constituted of a plurality of pipes erecting rods 1 vertically and a holder. After that, arrangement of the rods 1 stored in the rod magazine 5 is arranged on a radius with the shaft of a mast 10 as the center, and a rod clamp 2 is horizontally rotated. Then, the rods 1 in the rod magazine 5 can be held, and 5-8 pieces of rods 1 for approximate one day are stored in the rod magazine 5 before the starting of operation. At that time, a hydraulic cylinder 3 is opened so that the rods 1 drop into the pipes of the rod magazine 5, and at that time, cushion materials are placed in the pipes to ease impact. In the case of shallow drilling with light rod load, the rods 1 is raised and lowered with a rod lift, and in the case of deep drilling, the rods is raised and lowered with up and down motions of a spindle 8, a hydraulic chuck 6 and a hydraulic rod holder 9.
