To constitute a hydraulic unit in such a manner that during manual braking, automatic braking, and two brakings, ABS(Antilock Brake System) operation is practicable and to perform proper control of automatic braking and release thereof, and ABS operation.
A hydraulic unit 10 having a plurality of valves and a pressure source is connected to a brake line 4 with which a master cylinder 3 having a brake pedal 2 and a wheel cylinder 6 on the wheel 5 side are communicated. The valves and the pressure source are operated by means of a signal from a control unit 50 and during manual braking, automatic braking, and two brakings, ABS operation is effected. Further, the hydraulic unit 10 comprises an on-off valve 11 opening and closing arranged in the brake line 4; a proportional electromagnetic spool type pressure control valve 30 communicated with the branch oil passage 13 on the downstream side of the on-off valve 11; an on-off valve 21 arranged on the discharge side of the pressure control valve 30 and leaking a brake pressure; and a pressure source 15 to feed a high pressure on the feed side of the pressure control valve 30.
