PURPOSE: To provide an automatic cradle which picks up babies, catches cries of the babies or the like by a voice sensor, and starts rocking automatically.

CONSTITUTION: On a stand 2, a cradle 1 is pivotally supported by a shaft 3 in such a way as to permit free right and left rocking. The cradle 1 is equipped with rocking means 7 comprising a motor 4, and a drum 5, link 6, crank and the like connected to the rotary shaft thereof to rock right and left on the shaft 3. In addition, the cradle 1 is equipped with a voice sensor 8 which catches voices and operates electric appliances such as the motor 4. Therefore, it is not required for a person to constantly stand by the cradle and to rock it as in the case of a prior art cradle. The cradle can automatically be rocked with the rocking means such as a motor. Especially, since the cradle can automatically start the operation such as rocking by catching voices such as cries of babies or voices of mothers with the voice sensor, and can automatically stop the operation after a certain length of time with a timer set, hands such as a mother or a nurse can highly efficiently be saved.
