To improve squeezing efficiency and drying efficiency though a roller having nearly conventional machining accuracy is used by making the upper roller of a pair of squeezing rollers oppositely provided along a photosensitive material carrying path in a squeezing part between a washing part and a drying part heavier than the lower roller.
The opposed squeezing rollers 101 and 102 of the squeezing part provided between the washing part and the drying part are rotatably held by a bearing 103 and a bearing 104 which can slide up and down so that they may be pressed in the direction of a line linking the shaft centers thereof. The upper roller 102 constituted by lining rubber on a solid roller 102A is made heavier than the lower roller 101 constituted by lining the rubber on a solid roller 101A, and the secondary moment of the cross sections of the respective rollers is set so that the ratio of the maximum deflection of the center may be about 2:1 in a state where both end shaft parts are held by the bearings 104 and 103. Thus, the load of the upper roller is exerted on the lower roller, so that all the surfaces of both rollers are made in an equal contact pressing state.
