PURPOSE: To indicate display information while orienting the vertical direction of displaying face according to identification by recognizing a plane positioned on the downside as the downside of the indication and automatically identifying the vertical direction of the displaying face when a main body or a display device is inclined more than a fixed angle in a prescribed direction.

CONSTITUTION: Concerning an electronic equipment provided with a thin display device 6 such a liquid crystal or plasma display, this equipment is composed of an inclination detector 4 for detecting the rotating direction of the main body or the display device 6 with the inclination for the unit of 90°, image memory 2 for storing data to be displayed on the display device 6, image switching circuit 3 for switching the display angle of stored data in the image memory 2 by unit 90° corresponding to an output from the inclination detector 4, and display device 6 for displaying data from the image switching circuit 3. Therefore, when the displaying face is set at a certain angle so that an operator can clearly observe it, since the data can be displayed in a certain direction so that the operator can clearly observe them, operability is improved.
