Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently attain the opening and closing of an automatic document feeder over a long term.
SOLUTION: A hinge plate 51 constituting a hinge 50 is fixed on the side of the automatic document feeder 2, and a cam 53 is fixed on the side of an image forming device body 1, and the hinge plate 51 and the cam 53 are freely rotatably interconnected with a rotary shaft 52 as a center. A spring 56 is interposed between a housing 54 abutting on the cam 53 and a housing 55. The clockwise rotational force of the automatic document feeder 2 by gravity is canceled by counterclockwise rotational force by spring force with the rotary shaft 52 as the center. In the case that the spring force is changed by long-term use, a spring length is properly changed by screwing and loosening an adjustment screw 63. Thus, it is made well-balanced with the gravity by adjusting the spring force.
