PURPOSE: To securely correct the waving condition of a document by providing a pressing member having less document transfer resistance to both a feeding means and a member integrally provided thereto coaxially and in the same diameter so as to be on a straight line all along the width of the document and to be pressedly in contact with these members nearly in the tangential direction, in the vicinity of the position where the document is going to be brought into contact with the feeding means.
CONSTITUTION: A document which has been brought into a waving condition both by a call roller 3 and by a pressing member 5 is transferred by a separation roller 8. In this case, in the position further on the upstream side than the pressedly contacting position of the separation roller 8 and a stopping belt 7, and in the vicinity of the position where the document is going to be brought into contact with the separation roller 8, a pressing plate 4 made of a low- friction plate-like member such as a Mylar thin plate is pressedly brought into contact with the outer circumference of the separation roller 8 nearly in the tangential direction to the direction of trailing. Since the original is pressed by the pressing plate 4, the waving condition thereof can be corrected.
