PURPOSE: To mechanically perform, a conducting inspection of an electric wire, by holding the terminal connected to one end of the electric wire by fixed inspection pawls, grasping the electric wire by moving inspection pawls at the other end, detecting the terminal position by moving them in the terminal direction, stroking them, and supplying the electric power between both the inspection pawls.

CONSTITUTION: An electric wire 10 which has connected th terminal 11 to its one end is clamped by a moving jig 1 and is moved. The terminal 11 and the electric wire 10 are clamped by the fixed inspection pawls 12A, 12B, and the moving inspection pawls 17A, 17B, respectively, by lowering the support block 4. Subsequently, the inspection pawls 17A, 17B are moved in the core 30 direction by the lead screw 19. When the inspection pawls 17A, 17B contact with the core wire 30 in the course of movement, the contact detection circuit operates, gives a signal to the controller 26, and movement of the inspection pawls 17A, 17B is stopped. And voltage is applied between the terminal 11 of the electric wire 10 and the core wire 30 by turning on the change-over switch 34, the conducting resistance value is derived by the conducting resistance measuring circuit 32, and the electric conducting state between the terminal 11 of the electric wire 10 and the terminal core wire 30 is inpsected.
