PURPOSE: To provide possibility of interrupting the announcement in an elevator if a passenger or passengers consider it is too much, and to permit the announcement to resume when he or they have gone.
CONSTITUTION: It is judged whether a push is given to a proprietary push button 1 for prohibition of public information installed in a cage, and if yes, an announcement restriction device 2 gives a public information prohibit command 2a to an audio synthesizing device 3. When a proprietary information select command 2b is given to this audio synthesizing device 3 from the announcement restriction device 2, a proprietary information is given to passengers in the cage from the audio synthesizing device 3 according to this command 2b through a speaker 5. If shall then be judged whether the cage call registration which is made first after announcement of this proprietary information has been disengaged, i.e. whether a cage call 'on' signal 6 has been fed continuously. If judgement is that this signal feeding is not continued, the public information prohibit command shall be reset, and public information be resumed for new passengers who are getting on the cage which should invert the operating direction downward.
