PURPOSE: To unnecessitate the confirming job required with application of an inquiry command and to reduce the burden of a user by informing quickly the user of the end of a background job without affecting the job that is being processed at a TSS user terminal.

CONSTITUTION: A computer system 1 consists of a communication control part 2, a job control part 3 and a TSS control part 4. The part 4 includes an end information control means 8, an interruption control means 9, and a data temporary storage control means 10. The means 8 stores the information on a background job when this job is complete. The command inputted through a requester TSS user terminal 6 is saved by the means 10, and an end information message is transmitted and displayed on the terminal 6 under the control of an interruption control means 9. When an answer of confirmation is received, an answer is sent to the saved command. Thus the user of the terminal 6 can carry on the necessary processing.
