PURPOSE: To provide an automatic liquid sampling device in which needle moving information can be set with high accuracy and high efficiency without damaging a needle at the time of storing the needle moving information in the device.

CONSTITUTION: When the moving direction of a needle is horizontal, an arithmetic and control means 20 sets the moving speed of the needle at a low speed v1 and discriminates whether or not three seconds has elapsed after the key 8 pressing operation is started. When three seconds has not elapsed, the means 20 moves the needle in a horizontal direction at the current height through a control section 25 and needle moving mechanism 26. When the key 8 pressing time exceeds three second, the means 20 changes the needle moving speed to a higher speed v2 and moves the needle in the direction indicated by the key 8 after the mechanism 26 moves the needle to the highest point. When the needle is stopped, the means 20 displays the position of the needle on a displaying section 6.
