Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform horizontal finishing work, leveling work and back filling work of a band saw rapidly by measuring the distorted state, leveled state and back filled state of the band saw by sensors while feeding the band saw in the longitudinal direction, and actuating rollers and straightening rollers in a position and with the pressure corresponding to the measured value of each sensor.
CONSTITUTION: An automatic mill for a band saw is provided with a level sensor 31 for measuring the distorted state of the band saw 3 in the linear part of the band saw 3, a tension sensor 31 for measuring the leveled state of the band saw 3 in the curved part of the band saw 3, and a back sensor 35 for measuring the back filled state of the band saw 3 at the back part (the edge part on the side without tooth) in the linear part of the band saw 3. Rollers 13a, 13b and straightening rollers 23a, 23b are put in operation in a position and with the pressure corresponding to the measured value of the sensors 31, 33, 35. The leveling work, back filling work and horizontal finishing work of the band saw 3 are performed by the rollers (13a, 13b), (23a, 23b).
