PURPOSE: To prevent a penciled original from stain due to friction by transferring the transferred copied original to a predetermined position on a platen by vacuum adsorption and transferring it from the platen after copying by vacuum absorption.

CONSTITUTION: Originals 3 on a original tray 4 are one by one drawn out of the underside by an air knife 8, vacuum adsorbed 6 and transferred to a roller 7. The original 3 is transferred through a reverse gate 9 and a reverse roller 10 to a gate 12. The manually written original is also inserted from the tray 11 to reach the gate 12. Then, the gate 12 is opened, transferred 14 to pass through a gate 16 and vacuum adsorbed by a vacuum transfer means 17 to be ste to a predetermind position on a platen 1a. After copying, the original is again vacuum adsorbed to be discharged onto a dischaged paper tray 18. In double-sided copy, the original 3 is transferred 15 and reversed by the roller 10 to be set again onto the platen 1a. Thus, the penciled original can be prevented from stain due to wear to eliminate the occurrence of static electricity and ensure the stable transfer of the original.
