PURPOSE: To make an assured and easy packaging possible by using a guide pipe when a wet umbrella is cover-packaged by a packaging material.

CONSTITUTION: When a wet umbrella is pushed in a guide pipe 2 which is fitted in an opening 10, the tip of the umbrella depresses a receiving member 14 which is provided on the upper end of a spring 15 equipped in the guide pipe 2. At the same time when the receiving member is depressed, a switch S3 is turned on, and by operating a receiving/elevating mechanism 3 of the guide pipe 2 by normally rotating a motor M1, the guide pipe 2 is moved downward, and also, an operation motor M2 is rotated by operating a limit switch S2. Then, both sliding plates 4a, 4b of a pair of, right and left, first sliders 4 approach and come into contact, and the upper end peripheral edges of a packaging material 8 at the opening 10 is heat-welded by a heating member 23. When the wet umbrella is pulled up, and the receiving member 14 returns to the original specified position by memory elastic force of the spring 15, both sliding plates 5a, 5b of a pair of, a right and left, second sliders 5 approach and come into contact, and the lower end of the packaging material 8 is heat-welded by a heating member 25, and at the same time, the lower part is cut by a cutter member 26.
