PURPOSE: To achieve high speed pallet exchange by moving two pallets by means of one driving device and accelerating and reducing the moving speed of pallets by only use of a simple mechanism in a linear moving type automatic pallet exchanger.

CONSTITUTION: A slide is divided into two sliders 42 and 43 at the stand-by position of the actuating section 41 provided at the end of one arm 35 swivelled by a rotary shaft 34. The slider in the swivelling side of the arm 35 from this stand-by position is adapted to move linearly to the side of a machine 11 by the actuating section 41. The engaging bodies 52 provided integrally to the sliders 42 and 43 are adapted to be engaged with pallets 17 and 18 respectively for moving the same. Consequently, the two sliders 42 and 43 can be driven by the one arm 35. In addition, a slider lock mechanism and a slider lock relief mechanism are adapted to prevent the slider 42 and 43 in the side not worked by the arm 35 from malfunction.
