PURPOSE: To make it possible to repeat the delivery operation of a paper sheet, by detecting a jam in a stacker section, and by actuating a switch in association with the opening and closing of a door in a main body or by directly turning on and off the switch.

CONSTITUTION: A detector 110 provided on a conveyer path just before a resist roller 104 detects a jam which has occurred in a stacker 3. That is, when no paper sheet passes through the detector 110 even after the lapse of a predetermined time from the time at which the operation of a supply belt 35 serving as a paper feed roller is started, a control section warns occurrence of a jam and stops once a reversing device. The operator opens a door in the device body in view of the warning, a door switch provided on the door in turned off to isolate an electrical power source circuit. Further, if no paper sheet is fed even through paper sheets exist in the stacker 3, the paper feed operation is restarted when the operator closes the door.
