Abstract:
PURPOSE: To alter an accompaniment pattern with specific length halfway during its performance on the automatic playing device which automatically plays music.
CONSTITUTION: In a performance data memory 18, the pitch information and time information of the music performance and pattern selection information for accompaniment pattern selection according to the progress of the music are stored, and in an accompaniment memory device 2, a normal accompaniment pattern and a special accompaniment pattern are stored, and the pitch information and pattern selection information are read out of the memory 18 according to the time information. The pitch information is supplied to a musical sound generating circuit 30 to generate a musical sound signal, thereby automatically playing the melody and also automatically playing chords, rhythm sounds, etc., according to the accompaniment pattern selected among the accompaniment patterns in the memory device 22 according to the pattern selection information.
