PURPOSE: To enable to read in usual sentences mixed in Kanji (Chinese character) with the AD converter simple such as microcomputer, by combining the classification method from the both internal and external sides and that being the phrase table retrieval required and increasing the rate of read-in of Kanji.

CONSTITUTION: By using the AD converter, Kanji or the like is expanded on the main memory as the digital matrix of 8 dots per mm and 24W32 dots per side of a character. Further, at the circumference of the matrix, every bit is discriminated for ON and OFF of dots and 4 units 16 types classification is made in the combination of required lines and points. This classification is made four sides, left, right, up and down. Next, similar classification is repeated to the second dots from the external circumference and the longitudinal line at the center is classified the same method as above. Thus, the Kanji in dot constitution and the print letters of the same manufacture can be specified. Further, as required, normal phase table is retrieved with the code specified to increase the rate of read-in and normal sentence mixed in Kanji can automatically be read in the couple of simple AD converter such as microcomputer.
