PURPOSE: To read automatically work condition data of each of various worked bodies by constituting a read head by providing a back-pressure pipe to an air conduitit and by reading a perforated card equipped to a worked-body carrier jig.

CONSTITUTION: In the reader for work condition data of a worked body to be plated, several air conduits 2 to 2"' are connected to air supply pipe 3 and output pipes 5 to 5"' detecting pressure of air conduits, thereby constituting read head 1. A worked body is carried to a work process while being mounted on worked-body carrier jig 8 and perforated card 9 with work condition data is also carried being mounted on mount part 10 of jig 8. The array of perforation positions 11 of card 9 is made to agree with that of air jets 4 to 4"' of read head 1, which are made in contact with the card; variation in back pressure is detected by mercury 15 in output pipe 5 in a "U"-shape and adjacent switch 16 and perforations of card 9 are also detected, thereby automatically reading the work condition data. Consequently, the data can stably be read in an atomoshere with the dust.
