To provide an automatic reset device for a receptacle circuit capable of preventing a failure in the device or a load by continuously opening/closing the receptacle circuit.
Energizing currents of the receptacle circuits 2, 3 are detected by a current transformer 5. A current value outputted from an overload detecting circuit 6 is compared with a predetermined current upper limit value by a comparator 7. When the detected current value is beyond the current upper limit value, a signal is outputted from the comparator 7 to a thyristor driving circuit 8. A relay driving circuit 9 drives a relay 11 to interrupt the receptacle circuit 3 in which a fluctuating load is connected by the output of the thyristor driving circuit 8. When the power supply of the load is not turned off during the receptacle circuit 3 is cut off or the overload is not resolved even if the power supply of the load is not turned off, a continuously opening/closing preventing circuit inhibits a thyristor reset circuit from operating. Thus, the relay 11 keeps turning on, thus self-holding the interruption of the receptacle circuit connected with the fluctuating load.
