To improve work efficiency for rice cooking by easily performing position correction and preventing the drop of rice cooking materials such as rice or water discharged from a tank to the outside of a rice cooker by grasping whether the position of the rice cooker is proper or not through a position detecting means provided near the rice cooker.
Under the tank for storing the rice cooking materials such as rice and water or the like for rice cooking, the rice cooker having a rice cooking lid having a reception port for receiving these rice cooking materials is provided and near the rice cooker, a position detector composed of floodlights 28 and 31 and photodetectors 29 and 32 is provided for detecting the relative positions of the tank and the rice cooker. Then, a controller is provided for judging whether the position of the rice cooker is proper or not based on the detection of this position detector and outputting an error indication signal to an error display when this position is not proper.
