PURPOSE: To obtain an automatic rice pounder capable of varying the falling height of a ram according to the progress of rice-pounding process, by providing a clutch between a motor and a driving wheel to lift and drop a ram and providing detection sensors of the lifted position of the ram in multiple stages.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic clutch 3 is coaxially attached to a driving wheel 5 and a belt is extended between the electromagnetic clutch 3 and a motor 1. A chain 7 is extended between the driving wheel 5 and a follower wheel 6 and a ram 9 is attached to the chain via a slider 8. A number of sensors 12(12aW12c) are arranged along the lifting path of the ram 9 or the slider 8. The ram 9 is lifted when the clutch 3 is coupled and is fallen by its own weight when the clutch is released. The timing of release is determined according to the height of the ram 9 detected by the sensor 12 and to the progress of the rice pounding process.
