PURPOSE: To automate the mooring of a ship and the holding of the ship level, by delivering, to a computer, informations from an ultrasonic radar for detecting the relative position between a gyaywall and the ship, an echor sounder for detecting the distance between the ship bottom and the sea bottom, a doppler sonar for detecting the ground and water speeds of the ship stern, a wind direction and speed meter, in oreder to control a mooring winch, a ballast charge and discharge section, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A computer 21 for automatic control receives detected values from an ultrasonic radar 13 for detecting the relative position between a quaywall and a hull, an echor sounder 11 for detecting the distance between the hull bottom and the sea bottom, a doppler sonar 12 for detecting the ground and water speeds of the bow and stern of the hull, a wind direction and speed meter 16, a mooring wire pay-out stroke meter 14, a load cell 15, and a draft meter 22, etc. A winch control section 19 and a ballast charge and discharge section 20 are automatically controlled in accordance with the operation of the computer 21.
