Abstract:
To provide an automatic sorter capable of executing correct grade discrimination even when a conveyor belt or stock is contaminated by soil, mud, etc.
This automatic sorter is composed of a grade discriminating device 3 by image processing using a television camera 4 and an arm sorter 14 which has a free roller 17 and is controlled to plural rotating angle positions. Irradiation devices 8, 9 included in this grade discriminating device are so arranged as to irradiate the sorting stock in the visual field of the television camera from a horizontal direction. The resulted binary images of the sorting stock are subjected to hole filling processing, by which the stock volume is determined without errors.
