Abstract:
PURPOSE:To follow a ship taking a wrong course to a predetermined route smoothly with high accuracy, by introducing a steering data minimizing a shift with the predetermined route by means of the application of the optimum control theory. CONSTITUTION:When a position data is given from a GPS, a ship speed calculator 23 calculates the position to be followed by the ship and discriminates whether the error exceeds a preset permissible range or not. When the error does not exceed, the speed to sail on the predetermined route is set to a steering parameter set device 24. If the error is in excess of the permissible range, the speed of the ship to be followed is obtained by means of the optimizing method, this data is set to the steering parameter set device, and the speed and the direction to be taken by the ship are transmitted to a steering device 25.
