To reduce failures of biometric authentication by using registered biological information registered in a storage medium.
When an IC card read by an IC card reading part is determined as a card subjected to biometric authentication, a screen showing that biometric authentication is in preparation on an operation part, and when preparation processing of biometric authentication is completed, a screen for guiding start of biometric authentication is displayed on the operation part. When biometric authentication is executed by a biological information authentication mechanism part, a screen showing that biometric authentication is being executed is displayed on the operation part. When the result of biometric authentication is successful, a screen showing authentication success is displayed on the operation part, and when the result of biometric authentication fails, a screen showing authentication failure and a screen showing a cause of the authentication failure are displayed on the operation part.
