PURPOSE: To provide an automatic warehouse in which a transferring work can be efficiently executed even if the sorts and the quantity of loads to be handled are plenty, and palletizing function unnecessary for wide installation space is provided.

CONSTITUTION: A stacker crane 5 and an elevatable member 13 are moved to each shelf 1a of a custody rack 1 based on the previously input condition, and the single loading pallet 17 of each shelf is transferred to the elevatable member 13. A palletizing device 22 transfers loads on the single loading pallet 17 to an empty pallet by the necessary number. The respective shelves 1a of the custody rack 1 can store the single loading pallets respectively loaded with different sorts of load, and hence by moving to the shelves storing objective loads in order and transferring the loads to an empty pallet, a mixed loading pallet 16 in which different sorts of loads are loaded on one pallet is constituted.
