Abstract:
Increasing the volume of water kept in storage and controlling the water level behind a dam, are problems which remain to be solved. Up to now, the method used to control the level of the water has been a soil bag or board, a lubber dam, a tenter-gate, or a syphon, which were used to increase the height of a reservoir. This apparatus could be used to control the water level of the dam automatically. The upper part of the floodgate(3) is moved from a changing full level(5) to a design planned level(15) for normal conditions. When the water overflows, the floodgate(3) can be moved to a flood level(7) position.
