To provide an automatic weft selector capable of traveling a weft by a highest speed and simple automatic method in a sample weaving machine.

This automatic weft selector comprises a weft selecting part having plural actuators for transporting a specific weft to a first position, a weft slitter which is installed near the first position and is used for cutting the weft sent to a second position by a rapier and a switch opening and closing part which is laid on the rapier and is used for releasing the weft sent by the rapier when the rapier reaches the second position. The weft is inserted into a shed by reciprocating the rapier between the first position and the second position of the shed made of two longitudinal fiber sheets.
