PURPOSE: To grasp abnormality of the packing valves in an early stage by indicating selected information such as the weighing value of a packed article, mean value, the number at every selection rank and a continuous defective number at every packing valve in a packing apparatus.

CONSTITUTION: The articles 8 to be packed are sent to a packing apparatus 1 from a belt conveyor 7 and packed with the packing valves 6a-6h and sent to a weighing conveyor 3a. While the packed articles are detected with the photosensors PH1, PH2 therein, the weight of respective articles 10 is weighted with a weighing means 2 in accordance with the respective packing valves 6a-6h by the signal of a pulse generating means 16. The controlling part 3 of an automatic weight selector calculates the weighing value, mean value, the number at every selection rank and the number continuously selected to the defective rank and indicates them on an indicating part 4 at every packing valve by operation of an indication selecting means 5. Further when continuous defect reaches prescribed number or more, an alarm 32 is generated. By such a way, the packing tendency at every packing valve is grasped and the irregular packing valve can be rapidly regulated.
