PURPOSE: To obtain an automatic welding machine which is simple in constitution and have a wide profiling range by disposing freely turnably magnetic sensors on the circumference of the circular axis of a welding torch and specifying a weld line in accordance with the detection signals from said magnetic sensors.
CONSTITUTION: The tip of a welding wire is brought right above the weld line gap 10 of materials 5 to be welded and thereafter welding current is passed to generate arc discharge. A carriage 2 is moved in the X-axis direction at a prescribed speed. A sensor attaching base 7 is driven in such a way that the intermediate point of freely turnable two magnetic sensors 6a, 6b disposed on the circumference of a welding torch 3 is brought to the max. point of leakage magnetic flux density. A weld line 9 is thus specified at all times.
