Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and efficiently remove thread defects even when the thread defects long in length have been taken up by a take-up package.
SOLUTION: In this automatic winder which takes up a yarn Y released out of a yarn feeding bobbin 5 onto a package 6 while let the package 6 be abutting against a traverse drum 12, the winder is provided with a yarn clearer 11 detecting thread defects out of the running yarn Y, and with a cutter cutting off the running yarn Y. When any defect is detected by the yarn clearer 11, the automatic winder performs a defect removal treatment as specified after the running yarn Y has been cut off, and a thread defect removal is thereby changed in length in response to the length of detected thread defects.
