PURPOSE: To prevent an electric wire of an unwired section from being hooked on pins and automate smooth wiring by providing a shielding member covering a wiring board and supporting the wire of the unwired section while being moved in the X-axis direction together with a wiring head.

CONSTITUTION: When an electric wire 6 is delivered to a wiring head 1 from a wire delivering device 16, a shielding member 13 is located at the most retreated position. The wiring head 1 is slightly advanced, and a connecting machine 15 is connected to the connecting piece 14 of the shielding member 13. The wiring head 1 is moved to the front end section of a wiring board 7 to prepare for a wiring start. The shielding member 13 is drawn to cover nearly the whole area of the wiring board 7. The base end section of the electric wire 6 is connected to a connector 8 to be first wired, the electric wire 6 is hooked on the prescribed pins 9 in sequence while the wiring head 1 is moved in the X, Y-axis directions to progress wiring, and the wiring of one wire is completed when the electric wire 6 is connected to an end connector 8.
