Abstract:
To provide an automobile that can appropriately operate a discharge device in accordance with a situation.
This automobile 100 includes a motor MG, a smoothing capacitor C2, a discharge device DT and a controller 25. The smoothing capacitor C2 smoothes current that is used to drive the motor. The discharge device DT can discharge power stored in the capacitor C2. The controller 25 is configured to receive sensor data indicative of a state of the vehicle and determine whether the discharge device should be activated, based on the received sensor data.
