PURPOSE: To improve the voice recognition performance by correcting the dispersion in the frequency characteristic and the echo characteristic depending on the difference from a kind of a microphone and its installation position.
CONSTITUTION: This telephone system is provided with a filter 26 connected between a microphone 23 and a voice recognition circuit 21 and correcting the input characteristic of a voice signal from the microphone 23, an oscillator 27 for generating a reference sound and a speaker 28. A voice recognition circuit 21 receives a reference sound outputted from the speaker 28 through the microphone 23 and calculates the input output characteristic parameter of the filter 26. The input output characteristic of the filter 26 is adjusted in response to the calculated parameter.
