Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber oil compsn. for automobile which exhibits excellent frictional characteristics even under a condition wherein it is exposed to slight amplitudes and has a good durability of the frictional characteristics at high temps. SOLUTION: This shock absorber oil compsn. for automobile is such that a base oil having a kinetic viscosity at 40 deg.C of 3.5-8.0 mm2/s is blended, based on the total weight of the compsn., with 5-20 wt.% of (a) a polymethacrylate and 0.1-1.0 wt.% of (b) sarcosine, and the compsn. has a kinetic viscosity at 20 deg.C of 19-24 mm2/s and also a kinetic viscosity at -20 deg.C of 200 mm2/s or less.
