Abstract:
PURPOSE:To smoothly shift from the head of the upstairs side to the ascending/ descending plate side via an ascending operation by arranging an elastic member having a high friction coefficient below the rear end frame section of a dolly frame and providing a parallel link mechanism inside the rear end frame section. CONSTITUTION:During an ascending operation on an escalator, if the horizontal portion of the footstep of an ascending/descending port has a length of about three footsteps, when an operation lever provided at the handle section of an auxiliary handle 23 is grasped by hand, a link operating body is shifted by a wire, an elastic member 41 constituting a parallel link together with link arms 43, 43a of a parallel link mechanism R is protruded downward while maintaining a horizontal attitude and is pressed to the footstep face. Then, a wheelchair can be out smoothly from the head of the upstairs side. If the escalator is a normal one having a short horizontal section of the ascending/ descending port, the elastic member 41 is pressed to the edge of the footstep with the operation lever not operated, the driving force of the escalator can be likewise utilized, and the wheelchair can go out smoothly.
