Title:
AUXILIARY LIGHTING DEVICE FOR CAMERA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3288728
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable efficient auxiliary irradiation by controlling the lighting frequency of an auxiliary lighting means according to the degree of the brightness of an object.
CONSTITUTION: The object is irradiated with auxiliary light from an auxiliary lighting window 17 for detecting a focal point positioned on the front surface of a camera body BD according to the brightness of the object. Besides, a selection switch 118 provided on the upper surface of a camera main body is a switch used for selecting a desired range-finding area among the plural range-finding areas. Then, the measured brightness of the object is discriminated based on prescribed brightness. Besides, the lighting frequency is controlled so that the lighting is executed once in response to such a discrimination output that the measured brightness is larger than the prescribed brightness and the plural times of lighting are executed in response to such a discrimination output that the measured brightness is the prescribed brightness or under. Therefore, the range-finding of the object can be executed only by the auxiliary lighting device incorporated in the camera main body even according to the degree of the brightness of the object. Besides, the irradiation of the auxiliary light can be efficiently and usefully executed.
