Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I (wherein M is C or Si; R1 is pyridyl or pirimidyl, etc.; R2 and R3 are each 1-3C alkyl, 2-8C alkenyl, etc.; R4 is H, F, -CN, etc., and R5 is pyridyl or furyl) and its optical isomer, its salt and its quaternary product.
EXAMPLE: (Dimethyl) [2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-pyridyl-(5)]-yl[4-fluoro-3- phenoxybenzyl)-thiomethyl]silane.
USE: Agricultural chemicals. An insecticide, an acaricide and a nematocide.
PROCESS: Mercaptan represented by formula II (wherein M' is an alkali metal) and a salt of mercaptan represented by formula III are reacted with an alkylating agent represented by formula IV (wherein Y is a nucleophobic start group like halogen or sulfonate), if necessary, in the presence of a base to obtain the compd. represented by the formula I.
