Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an azeotropic composition improved in cleaning force and flame retardancy and being small in breakage of ozone layer.

CONSTITUTION: This azeotropic composition is obtained by combining cis-1,1,2,2,3,4-hexafluorocyclobutane with at least one compound selected from a group of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, n-propanol, tert-butanol, cyclopentane, n-octane, isooctane, n-heptane and methylcyclohexane. Nitromethane in an amount of 0.1-5wt.% is preferably further added as a stabilizer to this azeotropic composition. The azeotropic composition is useful as a cleaning agent, especially, a degreasing and cleaning agent, a flux cleaning agent and an agent for cleaning solid surfaces. The composition is further used as a dehydrating desiccant, especially an agent for drying solid surfaces. The composition is used as a foaming agent to provide a resin foam.
