Abstract:

To provide a back light device of electric field emission type, in which a convex part is formed on a side face of a front face substrate, and uniformity of light emission is improved.

This is the backlight device of electric field emission type, which is provided with the front face substrate and a rear face substrate arranged in parallel with each other at a prescribed interval, an anode and a cathode formed in each inside of the front face and the rear face substrates facing with each other, a fluorescent layer formed on the anode with a prescribed thickness, the convex part with numerous projections formed on the outer face of the front face substrate and on the other side to the anode, and an electron emission source that emits electrons by means of the electric field formed on the cathode.
