Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turning method that can turn a back tapered face using an ordinary cutting tool.
SOLUTION: A tool post to which a cutting tool 13 is attached is made to be turnable and indexable around the shaft in a perpendicular plane including the shaft center line of a main spindle, and a maximum sized commercial cutting tool 13, which can turn the tool post side inner diameter D1 of the work W held by the chuck 4 of the main spindle of a lathe is attached to the tool post, and the tool post is turned and is made to index so that the angle of inclination of this tool 13 to the machining hole of the work W is conformed with the angle of the inclination of the back tapered hole of the work W. The back tapered hole of the work W is thus turned into the final shape.
