Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a banking structure where a face of slope does not bulge even if the banking is compressed and sinks.
CONSTITUTION: Sloping-face forming members 1, each comprising a horizontal member 1a and an upright member 1b inclined rearward from the front end of the horizontal member 1a and then extending upward, with the upper part of the upright member 1b connected to the rear of the horizontal member la by a connecting member 1c, are piled up in steps on the side end of a fill 2 in such a way as to form a face of slope with the upright members approximately flush with one another, the horizontal member 1a and the connecting member 1c of each sloping-face forming member 1 are embedded in the banking 2, and the upper end of the upright member 1c of each sloping face forming member 1 is connected to the lower end of the upright member 1b of the next higher sloping face forming member 1 in such a way that they can slide along the inclination direction of the upright members 1b. As the banking 2 is compressed and sinks, the connections between the upright members 1b slide, so the upright member 1b of each sloping face forming member 1 is not acted upon by compressive forces and can thus be prevented from curving and bulging outwards.
