Abstract:
To provide a backlight device which improves the reproducibility of a display panel sharply and improves the picture quality of a liquid crystal display sharply by making it possible to change luminance for every arbitrary part of the screen.
This backlight device which emits light and irradiates a display screen has a light emitting means equipped with one piece of a white LED (Light Emitting Diode) or a plurality of white LEDs and a luminous control means which individually controls luminance of the white LEDs, and the backlight device can change the luminance of the display screen for every arbitrary location.
