Abstract:
To provide a slim backlight unit which does not generate dark lines between light guide plates.
The backlight unit includes a bottom frame having a bottom surface and side walls, a plurality of light-emitting diodes which are placed on the bottom surface of the bottom frame and define a plurality of light-emitting regions corresponding to display regions of a liquid crystal panel, and a one-body type light guide plate which covers the plurality of light-emitting diodes and is arranged in the plurality of the light-emitting regions corresponding to one screen. As a result, in the backlight unit which is driven by dividing the light-emitting regions, the light guide plate is formed in one body corresponding to the screen of the display panel.
